London School of Flying

Welcome to London School of Flying. If you have not visited us yet at Elstree Aerodrome, we would like to invite you to pop in and see what it's like at one of the country's most established flying schools - and one of the nearest to the Centre of London. We have been here for over 35 years and have trained many pilots - including quite a few celebrities.

Here at LSF we have about 350 members and they enjoy our facilities at Elstree. We have a comfortable Reception and Operations area where you can feel the buzz and excitement as our members plan their flights using the various maps and charts. Weather information is updated regularly throughout the day, and permanent internet access helps obtain accurate forecasts.

It is very pleasant to sit outside in the good weather and watch the aircraft come and go. We have a number of breifing rooms, a larger classroom where we offer ground lectures for those that require tuition for the theory exams which are part of a private pilot licence course, or one of the additional ratings you can obtain once you have gained your basic licence.

Refreshments are always on hand, and there is a Cafe/restaurant a few yards walk - near the Control Tower.

Other facilities include Cabair's very own Maintenance Division where we look after our large fleet. Don't forget - Cabair are the largest group of independent flying schools and aviation companies in Europe: that's a lot of aircraft! Over 150 to be precise - and they all require careful love and attention!

The London School of Flying also happens to be the headquarters of the Cabair Group who administrate the Cabair global presence which stretches from the UK, Spain, Florida, United Arab Emirates and with affiliates in Canada. It is also the HQ of Cabair Helicopters who offer charter services all over the UK and and sight-seeing trips over London. We often send helicopters to schools around the country to educate and entertain pupils of all ages with Cabair heliphotos.

Finally, LSF is also the home of our unique Pilot Advice Centre where you can receive free advice and guidance about becoming a pilot, and advise on which course is best for you. Call them on 0845 094 60 60 or email them here.
