Gaining your IMC rating will allow you to fly in UK territorial airspace, Channel Islands airspace and Isle of Man airspace as follows:

* Out of site of the surface
* In a control zone on SVFR clearance with a flight visibility less than 5 nm but not less than 1.5 nm
* Outside controlled airspace in a flight visibility less than 1.5 nm
* Carrying passengers above 3000 ft amsl in IMC or in flight visibility less than 3 nm when outside controlled airspace
* During take-off or landing with a flight visibility below cloud of not less than 1 nm

Cabair’s IMC course includes the following:

• 15 hours in 4 seat aircraft
• 15 hours with IMC instructor
• 1.5 hours a/r hire for test
• IMC Test
• 20 hours ground school
• Ground Exam
• Trevor Tom Book 5
• AOPA IMC syllabus

The course does not include the following:

• Landing and approach fee’s
• Fuel surcharge
• Any changes in VAT rate
• Membership (unless current Member)
